Salton Sea Pictures
The Salton Sea is an inland saline lake, occupying the lowest elevations of the Salton Sink, part of the larger Colorado Desert in Southern California, USA, north of the Imperial Valley. The lake covers a surface area of approximately 376 square miles (974 km?), the largest in California. While it varies in dimensions and area due to changes in agricultural runoff and rain, it averages 15 by 35 miles (24 by 56 km), with a maximum depth of 51 feet (15.5 m), giving a total volume of about 7.5 million acre-feet (9.3 km?). Sea inflow averages 1.36 million acre-feet per year (53.2 m?/s).
Invest now in residential or commercial properties. Salton City, o?n the West Shores of the Salton Sea only about 20 miles South of Indio and the Desert Cities, offers a great new possibilty for lucrative investments. Red Earth , the Indian Gaming Casino just opened its doors a few months ago and gets a lot of new attention to the area. Fifteen builders are currently building businesses and homes, and slowly the small village will grow into a new future desert resort.
If you haven’t already checked it out, take a look at the pictures on the Cafe Moto website under the gallery, for the Salton Sea ride. The picture in this post was taken by Matt Gordon, and it’s just one example of the cool photos taken that day. What a great ride it was, and a completely memorable day. Thanks to everyone who came and helped to make it what it was.
