There is no consensus, though on who the frontrunner is. For example,NBC Nightly News reported, “Top Democrats tell NBC News the leading contender for Obama’s running mate is Senator Joe Biden, because he has blue collar roots, foreign policy experience, and the credibility to attack John McCain’s record.” U.S. News & World Report reported that according to unnamed “top Democratic Party officials,” Obama is likely to choose Bayh as his running mate. However, a source indicated, “a number of other candidates, including New Mexico Gov[.] Bill Richardson and Virginia Gov[.] Tim Kaine, are still under consideration.” 3

Adam Nagourney at The New York Times reports Barack Obama has “all but settled on his choice for a running mate” and could deliver the news as soon as Wednesday morning. Mr. Obama?s deliberations remain remarkably closely held. 6

News & World Report reported that according to unnamed “top Democratic Party officials,” Obama is likely to choose Bayh as his running mate. Obama should pick Mrs Clinton that would show his true inexperience in his future potential job. All he and she did was say how awful and inexperienced the other one was. And now he is thinking of picking her? 9

Obama was a liberal Democratic state senator running in a Democratic primary against other liberal Democrats, when the base of the Democratic party staunchly and passionately opposed invading Iraq. MoveOn.org and every major liberal grassroots group was organizing and mobilizing opponents of the war. No Democrat suffered any serious political consequence for opposing the 1991 Persian Gulf War, and that well-executed war ended up being of no serious benefit to President George H. W. Bush. 5
