News: G1 Phone

“G1 Phone”

The first Android phone, T-Mobile G1 comes with QWERTY keyboard, trackball, built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G data connection.

A few sources are reporting that what everyone and their mother have been calling the “HTC Dream” for so long will actually be marketed as the T-Mobile G1.

It is the same with all Android phones.

So here is the T-Mobile G1 in all her glory!

The engineering drawings found by the Android Guys are nice to see, but they don’t necessarily represent what will be the final version of the hardware of the G1 phone.

T-Mobile’s G1 smartphone has finally been spotted in a real-world photo, courtesy of an anonymous tip sent to Engadget.

The Android Guys have dug up some juicy gems about the Google G1 Android phone.

Apparently, the Magenta Men want to flex their muscle by re-branding the phone as their own and cash in on the idea of the “1st Google Phone” or G1.

It looks like the Palm OS II won’t be the only mobile OS debuting in mid-2009 as reports have come in that Microsoft has pushed back the release of Windows Mobile 7 to the 2nd half of 2009.

With CTIA falling in the second week of the month, HTC, Google, and T-Mobile have the perfect opportunity to announce their newest darling to the world.

Android itself was also said by Google to include its own dedicated app store, Android Market, which aims to centralize third-party software for the open-source OS in the same way the App Store supports the iPhone and iPod touch.

Aside from the T-Mobile G1 launching this week, rumor has it that Samsung will also launch a new product in the form of the Bresson M8800.

The G1 comes pre-loaded with many useful applications including Google Search, Maps, YouTube, Gmail, Contacts, Calendar and IM.

The design matches the FCC images and outside renderings exactly and carries both the T-Mobile branding as well as a near-final version of Google’s upcoming mobile operating system; the touchscreen, trackball, and hidden QWERTY keyboard are all present as they have been seen since the G1 was first seen as a prototype for Google in the past several months.

One of my super secret spies at Google just happened to trade contact information with someone who admitted that the phone in his hand was the rumored Dream.

It’ll feature a 3-megapixel camera, HSDPA 1700/2100, quad-band EDGE, WiFi, Bluetooth but no A2DP, Google Maps with Street View, Android Market, Amazon MP3 app for music purchases and the Push Gmail support with full HTML client.

Android Community has just been invited to an event that will see the launch of the first Android powered T-Mobile smartphone.

Also, the rumor going around the Internet is that T-Mobile is set to launch in less than 8 weeks.

The design is pretty much like Tmobile’s Sidekick device.
