Matt Ryan attended The William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a three year starter for coach Brian McCloskey.

Ryan fails to impress vs. Panthers: Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 21-of-41 passes for 158 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in a Week 4 loss to the Panthers.

Ryan threw for more than 1,300 yards with 15 touchdowns and just two interceptions as a senior.

Matthew Thomas Ryan is an American football quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons.

He has thrown for 200 or more yards 15 times and is fifth all-time in school history in passing yards and in pass completions.

He also rushed 37 times for 94 yards and five scores, becoming the first BC quarterback since 1998 to run for two scores in a game vs.

Matt Ryan was less than spectacular, going 21-of-41 for 158 yards for the Falcons.

He made his first collegiate start on November 27, 2004 in the final game of that season, completing 24 of 51 passes for 200 yards against Syracuse.

He would go on to rank eighth in the nation in total offense and established new school records for 400-yard passing performances in both a career and season, en route to throwing for 4,507 yards.

He played college football at Boston College.

He also had five rushing touchdowns and 94 yards.

Received All-ACC first-team honors in 2006…preseason ACC Offensive Player of the Year in several publications…played with a foot injury for nearly the entire season; had surgery during the off-season and is now 100%…has recorded a 14-4 mark in 18 career starts…finished his junior campaign having completed 419-of-693 passes for 4,806 yards and 25 touchdowns; has also ran for nine touchdowns…has thrown for 200 or more yards 16 times… is fifth all-time in school history in passing yards and fourth in pass completions…earned MVP honors at the 2005 MPC Computers Bowl; threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns against Boise State.

He led the ACC in total offense , points responsible for , pass completions and passing yards per game.

He served as football team captain in 2002 and also captained the school’s basketball and baseball teams.

Ryan faced his toughest test of the season on Sunday and he pretty much failed, although he didn’t cost his team the game with any interceptions.
