After getting crushed 70-0 a few weeks ago by Arizona the University of Idaho football team decided it needed to shake things up.

Less than a month into the football season, the Idaho Vandals are undergoing another makeover after spectators complained that cheerleaders’ uniforms were flashing a little more than school spirit.

Then the game explode, and the Vandals were left with a frustrating 42-17 loss….

“A number of fans were concerned that the uniforms were inappropriate,” said Bruce Pitman, dean of students.

The move was done in reaction to their 70-0 loss to Arizona last Saturday.

Following Idaho’s frustrating setback Saturday afternoon to the Utah State Aggies in the WAC opener for both programs, University of Idaho starting quarterback NATHAN ENDERLE addressed questions from the media regarding the team’s solid performance to start each half , then fading as each half continued throughout the game.

The state of Idaho is suing Native Wholesale Supply Co., contending that the upstate New York cigarette supplier illegally sold millions of smokes to retailers on Native American lands in Idaho.

After the football team dumped the school logo from the buttocks of their new pants, the university in Moscow got complaints that new two-piece cheerleader uniforms were too skimpy.

The new uniform is black and silver with a less revealing halter-style top and a skirt about six inches longer than the ones that cheerleaders debuted earlier this season, said Shelly Robson, an adviser to the spirit squad and a fundraiser for the athletics department.

The cheerleaders coach ordered the uniforms and paid for them with $4,200 from a spirit squad fund, part of which is drawn from student fees, Pitman said.

I guess risqué outfits are more offensive in those parts than 70-0 losses.

The outfits that drew controversy, halter tops and short black skirts with white trim, were similar to what an NFL cheerleader might wear, Pitman said.

Athletic Director Rob Spears says nobody realized earlier how the logo would look.

For Idaho’s most recent game, the cheerleaders ditched the skimpier uniforms in favor of black volleyball shorts and football jerseys.

He was the fifth player to verbal to Idaho this recruiting cycle, and as a senior earned All-League and All-Region honors while playing as a two-way starter.

The previous uniforms didn’t flatter every member of the team, and some girls said their outfits were uncomfortable, Robson said.

A northern Idaho woman has been reunited with a brother in Oregon she didn’t know existed until she found an old document left by her deceased parents.

Matt Asiata scored three touchdowns rushing and Brian Johnson threw for two more and No. 22 Utah defeated Utah State 58-10 on Saturday night.
