Google Browser the end for IE?

Consider this: Since its inception, Firefox has pushed billions of search queries to Google, from which billions of dollars have been made.

In one fell swoop, the Firefox project gained several new, competent developers (Google developers are some of the best in the world and were even more so in 2006) who proved critical to the success of Firefox 2. While the importance and potential success of GBrowser are continually downplayed internally at Mozilla, the Lizard believes our new overlord, John Lilly, does not underestimate what Google can do.

If you really want to dig up some dirt, find out what happened between Google and Mozilla.

So, in mid-2006, after several months of semi-serious internal discussion, the skunkworks project known simply as GBrowser was officially but quietly launched inside Google. Most of these obstacles can be overcome with a leader who knows full well what he”s doing, having done the same thing with Firefox; Google”s hiring of Goodger in 2006 now seems like a prescient move.

Even more importantly, once another browser another browser, which you control even less, appears and begins to threaten Firefox growth, it”s time to start thinking about why your business isn”t fully under your control in the first place.

In our spare time, we shop, bank, read news and keep in touch with friends — all using a browser.

Because we spend so much time online, we began seriously thinking about what kind of browser could exist if we started from scratch and built on the best elements out there.

It’s only a tool to run the important stuff — the pages, sites and applications that make up the web.

What we really needed was not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications, and that’s what we set out to build.

We realized that the web had evolved from mainly simple text pages to rich, interactive applications and that we needed to completely rethink the browser.

Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today’s complex web applications much better.

Because we believe we can add value for users and, at the same time, help drive innovation on the web.

Google Chrome is another option, and we hope it contributes to making the web even better.

Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. GMail, GBrowse, GAnything — they work because they remind people of this “wonderful” thing called google.

People seem to think that everything that google ever does is a god-sent gift! with the word, money, being a key-word, especially when it comes to its shareholders.

I think lots of people have doubted what Google can produce, but so far (to my knowledge), Google has succeeded with everything.

Google also owns the domains “GOS.com” “Gporn.com” “Goffice” and “Gword” I think it’s safe to say they’ve got big plans.

Most recently, Google grabbed Joe Beda, the lead developer on Avalon, Microsoft’s code name for the user interface that will part of the next version of Windows, called Longhorn.

Well, it certainly seems like Google is taking over everything that’s G. with Google, no less.

Soon enough, pressure from that direction would reach into company policy, and google would cease “doing no evil”.

Google is now a publicly traded company. The target demographic of any upstart browser is the uninformed IE user.

Well, with the recent explosion of web based applications like Gmail, it was only a matter of time before someone developed the web-based browser.
