WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. Hours after performing for thousands of South Carolina college students, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM were critically injured in a fiery Learjet crash that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.
Former Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, and Adam Goldstein-known professionally as DJ AM, were critically injured in the plane crash that claimed the lives of four other people.

Officials said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks.
Investigators say they’ve recovered the cockpit voice recorder from a fiery South Carolina jet crash that killed four and critically injured former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and celebrity DJ AM.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks.
Federal investigators recovered the cockpit voice recorder from the crash site but said they aren’t sure whether information on the device survived the blaze.
Barker and Goldstein had played at a huge free outdoor concert in Columbia’s Five Points district on Saturday night, CNN affiliate WIS-TV said.
Barker and DJ AM were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia, hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said.
A hospital spokeswoman said former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey have been critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people.
“It’s absolutely terrible and tragic,” Columbia Mayor Bob Coble said.
Barker and Goldstein had performed together under the name TRVSDJ-AM at a free concert in Columbia on Friday night.
She says authorities investigating the crash at Columbia Metropolitan Airport have yet to rule anything out for causing the crash, but the plane took off in clear weather.
“Air traffic controllers did observe sparks from the aircraft as it was going down the runway and immediately alerted fire-rescue crews at the airport,” Hersman said Saturday evening in West Columbia.
Goldstein is a popular DJ for hire who at one time was engaged to Nicole Richie and has been romantically linked to actress Mandy Moore.
Two other passengers Chris Baker, 29, of Studio City, Calif., and Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles died, as did pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., and co-pilot James Bland, 52, of Carlsbad, Calif., according to the county coroner.
The show, which included performances by former Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Ferrell and singer Gavin DeGraw, drew 10,000 people into the streets of Five Points, the neighborhood near the University of South Carolina, Coble said.
He said he asked them whether anyone else was on board the plane, and they said four people were with them.
