Allison Holker
Allison Holker, a finalist on season 2 of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance, has joined the cast of the “upcoming multimedia, dance and rock n’ roll piece Revolution” at the Joyce Theater in New York City. The off-Broadway production is being directed by Lloyd Culbreth, a veteran Broadway dancer. Revolution was co-created Joel Hanna, a champion Irish step dancer, and Michael Schulster, a highly acclaimed tap dancer. The show will incorporate many styles of dance, including tap, jazz, tango and even martial arts, all performed in front of a live rock band. The show will run from September 25 through October 7 at the Joyce Theater. 3
It seems that the popularity of shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars are indeed making dance more popular across the country and allowing more experimental type productions like Revolution to exist. Allison Holker was one of the better dancers on season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance (and youngest). Her elimination was one of the big surprises of the season, with many (including judge Mary Murphy) that she should have progressed further. It’s good to see her getting work, although you have to wonder how far she can make it. What is Allison Holker’s upside? Can she find a niche on TV? Is Broadway the peak? Hopefully, as dance increases in popularity across the country the opportunities for young dancers like Allison increase as well. 6

Allison was robbed last night…Donyelle should’ve been in the bottom 2 with Natalie and been eliminated. Allison was indisputably the best female dancer there because she was so incredibly versatile. 8

If you did you’d know that Allison and Travis grew up together and they’ve competed nationally together at many dance competitions. So after all those years they’d better have chemistry. He lost his dear friend that night. Its like when you and your bestfriend decide to go to two different colleges on opposite ends of the world! Secondly, Nigel says all the time they are looking for AMERICA’S FAVORITE DANCER. Heidi should’ve went home. She’s really good at what she does but she just looks awkward doing the other stuff. But don’t worry the other girls will have a plethera of opportunities. 9
