Personnel having a Common Access Card (CAC) will be able to self-register for an Air Force Portal account. Potential users who currently do not have a CAC should fill out the appropriate paperwork, follow the appropriate processes, and report to their local MPF for issuance. If a user is unable or unauthorized to receive a CAC but has a valid portal account need, please call your Field Assistance Branch (FAB) Portal Help Desk. The CAC is not used in the registration process but CAC issuance guarantees proper information in the Air Force Directory Service (AFDS) database during the verification process. 2
